Hello Everyone, I know I have been slacking on my emails lately so I hope this one will make up for it... +++ On Friday we had Zone Conference and got to listen to missionaries and President Bangal give a workshop. They were great. In this mission we have a motto. The Motto is 'W.O.R.K.' which stands for W-Work O-Obedience R-Repentance K-Knowledge. The first workshop was given by Elder Gamboa and Elder Plania and it was about R-Repentance. Something I liked from their workshop is the 5 'What is Repentance' statements. 1. Repentance is an expression of love 2. Repentance is striving to change (Doctrine & Covenants 1:27) 3. Repentance is to commit to obedience 4. Repentance is a willingness to endure or continue in faith 5. Repentance is a swelling up of joy (Alma 5:30-32). These 5 descriptions of what Repentance is tells us what we need to do. None of us are perfect, so we all need to repent every day. Even if we commit a small sin. Repentance should not be a burden. It is a blessing from God. :) +++ There was a lot that I liked from Presidents Workshop. He did a wonderful job! :) Presidents workshop was about being Disappointed, not discouraged. So as missionaries when we teach people and they don't want to follow our invitations or they don't want to listen then we can get disappointed, NOT discouraged. When we get discouraged we give up and then we stop trying. But when we get disappointed we try harder so that we wont be disappointed again. Something that Elder Jeffrey R. Holland said is "Prepare. Plan. Work. Sacrifice. Rework." If we follow these things we wont fail. If we get disappointed, then we just try again or 'rework'. President Bangal shared a lot of quotes from Thomas Edison. Thomas Edison is a great example of someone who never gave up. :) One thing he said saw "I haven't failed. I've just found 10,000 ways that don't work." Isn't that amazing! We need to all be like that when we stumble on our path of life. President Bangal also shared a video with us about the "5 Things Successful People (Missionaries) NEVER Say" and I will list these for you... 1. "I've Tried Everything..." 2. I Don't Need Help..." 3. "Easier Said Than Done..." 4. "I Can't Do That..." 5. "That's Not Me!". How many of you guys say these things? I know I do sometimes. But if we stop using these phrases and start working towards the goals we want in life, we will reach them. Just don't EVER give up! God is with you. God is here to help you every stop of the way. :) So if you ever feel like you are alone, just know that you aren't. "You are never alone, when you stand with God." -Thomas S. Monson +++ Well I hope you guys enjoyed this email and I hope it makes up for my lack of good emails recently. I know that God loves you all. :) I would like to leave this email with this quote... "Our greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time." -Thomas Edison
