January 29th
I just wanna testify that the youth in the world today can make a change in peoples lives. They have a huge impact of peoples lives now. Help them to reach their full potential and to follow their dreams.

January 24, 2017: Today was a great day for teaching! For personal study I read from the Book of Mormon and Listened to a talk by Jeffrey R. Holland called "Safety For The Soul" and I listened to Bill Carpenters conversion story. They are both so good! Our first stop was in Codoog with a new investigator, Michael Gamet. He just found out that he has cancer. He has a family and is only 38 years old. I really felt for him. We got to introduce the Plan of Salvation to him. Please pray for him and his family. Brother Lardizabal was with us as well. He is an awesome member! We then walked to Orence and visited with Brother Jeff. He was Elder Youngerman's investigator in Baguio. His wife just left to Baguio for work so we taught just him. We were able to teach him about the gospel of Jesus Christ. We walked to San Antonio next and let me tell you, Codoog to Orence to San Antonio is really far for walking but we did it haha. We taught Brother Jam Melo and his family. We taught about Loving Jesus Christ and Heavenly Father and how we can show our love for them. We went to the Maaghops next and originally planned to teach about baptism but the Spirit took us into another direction. We ended up asking each of them if they thought this church and gospel is true and all but one said yes. Sister Jenny said "No, I do not know." So we decided to focus on her specifically and teach about the Restoration of this church. We talked about Joseph Smith and as soon as we said his name John-Reniel raised his had and asked if he could tell the story of Joseph Smith. He gave the entire story and it was amazing and spiritual for him being only 10 years old. It was a really good lesson. We ended the night at the Crisolo's house, who are members, because it was John's 20th birthday! He is one of the youth i the ward who is planning to serve a mission.

January 25, 2017: Today was a very spiritual day! Personal study is always a good start to my day. I was able to read the first and second chapter of Mosiah today and then to read from the Liahona. We got the new ones about Gordon B. Hinckley, our prophet before Thomas S. Monson. I read some really good talks and invite you all to read it as well. I also studied 'Preach My Gospel' and I always enjoy that. Our first stop of the day was at one of our investigators house, Tatay Blanza. We aren't sure about him yet because he still goes to Catholic church and hasen't been to our church yet. We taught Jam Melo today alone again to prepare him for his Baptismal date on February 25th. We are really excited for him! He opens up so much when he is with us but not in front of his family. He is such an amazing man and has a lot of Potential!:) We visited a member today, Sister Nera, and we were able to teach her. She is so nice to us. She always invited non-members in her neighborhood to join in on the lessons. We taught her about being thankful and thanking God through prayer and service to others. We went finding for a little pit and came across these 3 older guys sitting on a bench in this neighborhood. We introduced ourselves and asked if we could share a message with them and they agreed and were happy to hear from us. They actually invited like 10 other people that were around to join the lesson. So we had like 12 adults and 4 kids. It was a spiritual experience because we decided to teach about Bible prophets and then about Thomas S. Monson. They accepted it very well and even has comments and questions for us. We gave them pass-along cards that have "Mormon.org" on them and invited them to search there for the truth of our message. It was a good lesson. The most spiritual part of the day we at the Maaghops later in the day. We always end up teaching somthing completely different than from what we plan haha. The spirit just guides us deferent directions depending on the people's needs. We ended up teaching about prayer and finding truth through prayer and invited them to do so. After we finished speaking Jenny jumped in and asked if she could share something and we welcomed her to do so and she gave us all a blank sheet and asked us to draw a simple shield and draw 2 horizontal lines and one vertical line through it to make 6 boxed in the shield. Each box was a question. They were 1. The 2 most important people here on the earth in your life, 2. The place you go when you are mad or sad, 3. If you had 3 wishes what would they be?, 4. The worst thing that has happened in your life, 5. What you think people will remember about you if you died tomorrow, and 6. If you were to die in like an hour, what would you say in your last prayer to God? These were great questions. If you guys answer these you will feel the spirit as you do so and you will realize that the answers you put will represent exactly who you are. This lesson from Jenny brought the spirit into the lesson really strongly. It was such a good night with the Maaghops. :) Overall, it was a spiritual day.

January 28, 2017: Today was a successful day. We played basketball at the church this morning with Edmer, the Young Mens President who is waiting for his mission call! Woohoo! It should be here soon!:) We then helped the primary clean the church. It is nice to see members pitch in to clean the church. Our first stop of the day was in Orence at Jeff Cabalbag's house. We were able to teach a lesson about Faith in Jesus Christ to him, his mom, and his sister. The lesson went well and they plan on attending church tomorrow! We then went to visit Michael Gamet later around 4:00. He was shaving his head when we got there because he goes to do Chemotherapy tomorrow for his Cancer. He said that is is really close to his heart. We taught him about trail and faith in God and Jesus Christ during times of trial. It fit really well with his situation. I invite you all to please keep Brother Michael Gamet in your prayers. He really needs it. He is going through a lot right now. Thanks:) We went to the Lardizabal's next but visited sister because Brother was in the field working. We went to Brother Francisco and his wife next and were able to share a message with them. Sister was receptive this time. Last time they weren't really receptive but this time she was different. I am excited where this family goes with these lessons. Today we taught them about the Book of Mormon and read some of the Introduction with them. We ended the night at the Church building to teach the Valdez Family. We taught the whole Plan of Salvation again to make sure they understand it all. We really focused on the 3 kingdoms of glory to help them understand it all. It was a good lesson and I hope they can take it all in. Today we had the opportunity to teach a lot of families and was successful.

January 29, 2017: I learned a good lesson today. I learned that the youth in our church have GREAT potential. They can do what the but their heart and mind to. I'll get to the reason I say this at the end. Church was good today. We had good speakers and a good amount of investigators. The wives in the Maaghop family came, Jenny Maaghop came, the Valdez family came and brought Erica with them. Classes were good too and good for the investigators. Today for work we went on splits with the Young Men who are preparing to go on a mission. Elder Youngerman went with Edmer and Diodel and I went with Zayrex and Biong(John). We did a lot of finding today and I left it up to the 2 young men I was with to lead the day to prepare them for a mission and they were excited and confident. We also go to teach Brother Dominador, Sister Nera, Nanay Zenny, and the Maaghops(Jenny, Robert, and Arman). We did an object lesson at Sister Lessons about prayer. Then at Dominadors we taught about prayer too but with a different scripture. Both Zayrex and Biong testified after and it was really powerful! These guys are amazing! Then we taught at Nanay Zenny's and I challenged them to find a scripture each to share at the lesson right before it started to prepare them for their missions when they will have to think of last-minute lessons. They did an outstanding job! Zayrex shared Mosiah 16:9 and Biong shared 1 Nephi 14:29. I was so proud of them! Biong got emotional during the lesson too which made it even more powerful and spirit filled. The last stop was at the Maaghops and Elder Youngerman, Edmer, and Diodel joined us. We taught a lesson about Prayer. Seems to be the topic of the day haha. Elder Youngerman and I sheared about it and a scripture and right after I finished testifying Biong jumped in and shared a scripture and testimony, then Edmer did the same thing, and then Zayrex did too! Zayrex blew my mind today! He lead most of the lessons and conversations, and the sharing he did at the Maaghops was Perfect! He is only 14 years old and he is becoming a great missionary already! :)  The reason why I said the youth in our church can do anything they put their heart and mind to. They really showed me that they have great potential in growing this gospel and changing peoples lives. If you are a youth, get out there and work with the missionaries and serve a mission. If you are an adult, get the youth out working with the missionaries and on a mission. They can do a lot in this gospel!

January 22nd
My email is a little shorter today because I have been really busy this week. I hope you enjoy what I've typed up for this week. Thank you for all your support and help! Keep being amazing people!:)

January 16, 2017: What a spiritual and changing day. A lot has happened today but there is only one thing worth emailing about today. We had an appointment with the Maaghop family at 7:30pm. They scheduled a dinner and lesson. The dinner was delicious. We ate Sopus, Chicken Adobo, and Rice. It was Masurap! Then we taugt the lesson. Elder Pitt followed up with them and I taught the lesson. My lesson idea came from both Elder Belen, who served a mission in my home ward, and Caitlyn Lewis. They are both awesome! :) In the lesson I talk about these two missionaries who had to prove that they could relate 1 piece of paper to Jesus Christ and his Gospel. So they did and I gave the object lesson and explained it along the way as I did it. You fold the paper in different ways and rip it in half at the end and it makes a Cross and spells 'LOVE'. Everyone loved it and the reverence during it was on point! The best part was that the spirit was SO STRONG! One of the most impactful moments of my entire life when it comes to the spirit! It honestly was life changing. Everyone was quite, they all payed attention, and some even cried. When Elder Pitt and I closed with our testimonies that topped it off. Especially with Elder Pitt's closing and last remarks at the Maaghops. I know that this lesson touched their hearts and will impact their lives too. It has done that to mine. After the lesson there were a lot of Hugs and Love towards Elder Pitt because it is his last time seeing them for a while. Let me tell you something, this is why I'm here on a mission. For moments like this, life changing moments. I love being a missionary and even more so, I love this Church and this Gospel.

January 17, 2017: Transfer day. Both sad and happy. Elder Pitt is off to San Fernando! He will do great things there. Elder Youngerman is my new companion. He has been in the mission for 18 months! I'm sure he knows what to do as a missionary. I'm excited to learn a lot from him. I will be learning a lot. We went to the Valdez family and taught. We taught about Mosiah 4:14-15. It is about families and children. Then we went to Brother Rambo to introduce Elder Youngerman to him. Brother Rambo ended up driving us to our next appointment and taught with us. We went to our Ward Mission Leader, Brother Leaones, and taught about 3 Nephi 24:10-11 about tithing. Elder Youngerman came up with the lesson and did a great job! That was our night. It was a good day overall. A lot of changes.

January 18, 2017: Today was a good day. Fulled with maraming (a lot) visits. We had District Meeting in Candon so we could meet the other new missionaries in the Zone. We have quite a bit of missionaries who just transferred into this zone. District meeting was helpful. Elder Youngerman taught about using the Preach My Gospel wisely and setting goals from it to better our missionary work. Magaling siya na magturo. Our first visit of the day was at Brother Mario's. This lesson was tough. He is having a hard time accepting the Word of Wisdom. He loves everything but his challenge is the Word of Wisdom. We will continue to do what we can but he has to do his best to change. Elder Youngerman was bold during the lesson and did a good job. We went to Jam Melo next. We taught just him today. It went SO well! We saw a side to him we haven't seen yet. He really opened up. He isn't a member and his sisters and father are. We just connected with him and talked about baptism and his stance with the church. He really wants me to baptize him before we leave because we are close. He said he is 35% to wanting to become a member and of knowledge of our religion and wants to get to 100%. He said he is too shy to act like this around his family. I'm glad he really opened up! :) He has great potential with this gospel. We visited Nanay Zenny and Marco next. They are doing good. Their dog had puppies a while ago and she had 7 but there is only 1 left because it is a super rare species. A Shitzu/Siberian Husky mix. We went back to the Melo's because the family wanted us to teach. We taught them about Temples. The father wants to go and get his family sealed but it's hard because it's far for Filipinos here. So we invited them to start attending church every Sunday to work towards going to the Temple. We ended the night at Bishop Daquels house. We wanted to introduce Elder Youngerman to him. We taught the lesson with the paper folding to them and it went well. The Stake Presidents wife, Sister Adviento, was there along with Bishop and Brother Jean. The lesson went well. Everyone had good thought during the lesson. It was a great day overall! Elder Youngerman is a really experieced teacher and well with people. Magaling Siya!

January 22, 2017: Another great Sunday. Today I gave my talk about the Book of Mormon and it felt like it was only 5-10 minutes long but everyone else said I took 30 minutes! Haha wow! I didn't even realize. I felt like it was a good talk and I hope it was. The Valdez Family and half of the Maaghop family attended church today. It always makes us missionaries happy to see our investigators coming to church. The classes today were good as well. Our first appointment was at the church with the Valdez Family. We taught about "The Family: A Proclamation to the World." It brought up a lot of questions that they had and concerns too. We ended up talking about Baptism, Marriage, Temple Marriage, and Eternal Families. It was a really good discussion and I hope it pushes them a little bit to progress to the next step of their conversion because I know that they are ready for the next step. Our next lesson was at Brother Mario's house and unfortunately this might be our lesson with him... He has had a problem with Alcohol and these past 3 weeks he hasn't attended church and has gone back to drinking alcohol. We have taught about the Word of Wisdom and he believes the 'No Drugs, No Cigarettes' part but not when it comes to Alcohol and Coffee. He doesn't believe in those parts and said that he has decided to go back to the Roman Catholic religion. He is no longer taking our lessons with us. It was very upsetting and at the same time frustrating because I wonder what I, or we, did wrong. I also am amazed at how impactful Satan can be when he gets a hold of our weaknesses. I am sad that this is what he has decided but I respect his decision and hope that someday in the future he will return to the missionaries and to this Gospel. We visited our newer investigators, the Cabalbag family. Elder Youngerman actually knows the couple that is staying here because they were his investigators from Baguio, his last area. We had the opportunity to discuss church attendance with them and invite them to attend church. There a quite a few of them too. I hope to see them on Sunday. We ended our night at Nanay Zenny's house and we got to share a message with her and Saldy (A recent convert who borders at Nanay Zenny's house) about 2 Nephi 25:26. It is a really good scripture when it comes to sharing a message with members because as members we are to share about Christ, talk about Christ, share what we believe and that is one of the most important things we can do here in our life on the Earth.

Your Friend, Elder Scott
The tooth on the right is the one he found.  The other is his little brothers Cooper.. Yuck

January 15th

January 9, 2017: When I woke up Elder Pitt was throwing up and was sick. Poor Guy. We didn't go running today because he was sick. We had to go to Candon early though because Elder Pitt had to get Elder Pitt's drivers license. Elder Pitt can now drive a car in the Philippines! It took about 2 hours do do all the paperwork and waiting in line. It's like the United States DMV's haha. When we got back the first thing we did was email. Emailing has now been extended to 2 hours, rather than 1&1/2 hours. I had a good time talking with family and friends over email. Elder Pitt was still feeling really sick and wasn't able to go out and buy groceries so the other Elder's in our apartment went out and bought them for us. They are great. :) We didn't go out and work today because Elder Pitt was sick and he rested to get better. Hopefully he gets better by tomorrow.

January 10, 2017: Another sick day because Elder Pitt still feels really sick. Poor guy. :( I'm actually grateful for this day though because while he was sleeping I got to do a lot of studying and learning! It was great! I watched these missionary learning videos and they are so helpful. Elder Pitt slept pretty much the whole day until about 4:00PM because we had an appointment we couldn't miss. For lunch time Elders Alvarez and Baliwas made lunch. They made corned beef and rice. It was good until something traumatizing happened... This may sound hard to believe but it actually happened. So, while chewing I bit something EXTREMELY HARD and when I took the thing out of my mouth I came to find out that it was a TOOTH!!! It was so disgusting!!! I can't believe it! The other Elders freaked out and we all started laughing so hard! I now have the tooth taped into my Journal for today haha. What an unforgettable experience! The last part of our day was spent at Brother Amante's house. He is a wonderful member. He feeds us all the time and is so helpful with lessons and teaching with us. Gotta love him! It was a pretty unbelievable day!

January 11, 2017: We had District Meeting today in Candon. It was a great meeting! Elder Pitt taught a great workshop that helped me and, I hope, helped the other missionaries as well. For the last 30 minutes we had a roleplay for answering some of our hardest questions that we get asked. Elder Pitt pretended to be a Less-Active member who fell away from the church because he didn't understand why coffee is 'Bawal', or not allowed, in our church and also because he didn't believe that the Godhead, Our Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost, were separate. This is just an example, not anyone we know or have met before. All the rest of us missionaries had to find ways to defend the churches beliefs through scripture and we all did a great job! I learned a lot from it and found scriptures I didn't even know existed. Thank you for the opportunity and lesson Elder Pitt! After the meeting we didn't go to our area, we went past are area to a town called Santa. This area will be opened soon and Elder Pitt has been assigned to find an apartment. We think we found some that missionaries could live in. We ended the night at Nanay Zenny's to pick up water for our house. She is our water distributer. We ended up talking to her son Marco who is amazing and funny. He talks to us about his fun mission stories. I told him about the tooth thing that happened yesterday and he was so grossed out! He said there was a video on facebook about a meet factory in German, where the can came from, that used human meet as well because it is allowed there... I really hope I didn't eat human and that that's why I had a tooth in my food... That would be terrible! Fun Fact about something that just happened in their family. They have 2 dogs, one big beautiful Siberian Husky and one small Shitzu, and the Shitzu got pregnant from the Husky!? I don't know how that's possible but it is haha. The Shitzu's belly was HUGE! It had 7 babies! We saw the babies and only 4 survived but they have the colors of the Husky which is so cool! Apparently this breed of dog is extremely rare! How cool is that! I can't wait to see them fully grown. They will look so weird haha.

January 12, 2017: I wasn't able to type about this day because I was in San Fernando on exchanges with Elder Smith, one of the Assistants to President Bangal.

January 13, 2017: Today is 'Day Of Repentance'. Elder Smith and I headed back to Narvacan around 6am and got there around 8:45am.  He drove the truck and he drove so fast! Haha! We closed exchanges in Narvacan and they left. Elder Pitt and I finished our studies and then ate lunch. After lunch we had Weekly Planning. It is always really good to do weekly planning and companionship inventory. It really helps the week! At 3pm we had an appointment with our American friend, Brother Charles and his family. They fed us and we had a good conversation like we always do, but this time we talked about our church. We gave him a Book of Mormon and explained it to him. We got the opportunity to explain about the life of a missionary too. He always talks about how he has a lot of respect for us as missionaries because it takes devotion and discipline to do this. :) He is great! He want's to go to church with us sometime too. I can't wait! We went back home after and Brother Charles' son rode with us home because he was going into town. His name is Vito. He is 15 and an expert at 'Tai-quan-do'! He asked to walk us home. How nice! He is a very well raised youth and polite. He is great! While at home we cleaned out entire apartment because 'Day Of Repentance' is a day to deep clean the apartment. We finished at 7pm and went to an appointment at the Alafriz's. We taught and fished the lessons about the Plan of Salvation. The were attentive and Sister asked great questions. It was a good lesson.

January 14, 2017: A day in Codoog. For personal study I focused on the Lardizabal family which have been members for a year. We are teaching them tonight so I thought I'd focus on them. I wasn't sure what to focus on for the lesson and then I saw the Articles of Faith! What a great idea. The Articles of Faith are perfect. I wanted something else to teach with the Articles of Faith so I thought it would be a good idea to relate scriptures from the Bible to them to show the importance of the bible in our religion. I loved studying it! After studies we left for Codoog. We spent the entire day here. We went searching for Less-Active members there. We had a list of some. Most of them were working out in the Bukid (Translation: Field). We ended up finding new investigators though! Two new families! Woohoo! We taught them both. It went really well. We finished the day at the Lardizabals house. They are such and amazing couple!:) The lesson went well and they had good insight during the lesson. We have a curfew @9:30 and the lesson ended @9:00. Codoog is far and there were no trikes around. We we walked for a while, a water delivery drink guy gave us a ride for a little bit, and then we ran, and walked again all the way home and got home @9:50... We will have to plan better next time. Last Minute thing that I literally just found out while typing: Elder Pitt Is Transfering!!! Nooooo! I am not sure if I am training or not till tomorrow. Dang, I'm gonna miss my fellow American Companion! Good Luck wherever you are going my friend!

January 15, 2016: Lots of 'Goodbye's' for Elder Pitt today. We had church and Elder Pitt was asked to share his testimony because he is leaving. He did a great job! The other speakers were great too. All the classes after were good. Sister Maaghop, Keith, Riza, and Francine, our investigators, came to church today. Right after church ended, Bishop came up to me and handed me a paper. I get to give a talk next Sunday! Woohoo! It needs to be about the Book of Mormon. It will be fun to prepare! During proselyting time we visited Dominador and took some pictures with him, we went to the Maaghops and scheduled an apointment for tomorrow, visited the Valdez's and Brother Valdez hugged Elder Pitt! They love him! :) We also visited the Rambo and Jo-ann, Melo family, and Brother Marco and Nanay Zenny. It was a lot of "Goodbye's". I'm sure he will make lots of new friends and meet more amazing people in his next area!
I hope you all enjoyed this email and have a great week! :)
Your Friend, Elder Scott

January 9th
Hello everyone! I hope you enjoy this week and my weekly email!

January 2, 2016: Today was a good day. This morning us 4 missionaries went with Brother and Sister Ruiz, along with Brother Edmer, to our mission boundary. There is a bridge that goes to a place called Vigan and once you cross that bridge, you are in  the Philippines Loaog Mission. We didn't cross it so don't worry haha. We just got to the furthest point and took pictures. There is a picture of my on top of the gate where the boundary is pretending to climb over it haha. It was a fun activity. From then until 6:00 we prepared for the week. We emailed our family and friends, grocery shopped, and ate lunch. When we were eating lunch Brother Charles, an American from Oregon, saw us there and ate with us. We went to his house last week and had a great conversation about a lot of different things. He has 3 sons. The oldest is said to be really good at 'Tai-quan-do'. All the kids speak English and were born in america. The wife is Filipino. When they go back to America to visit the oldest son will be competing in nationals! Brother Charles is a really cool guy! He said he'd like to go to church with us one day to see what it is like. He also said that we are welcome at his house whenever because there aren't many Americans here haha. It was nice talking with him again at lunch today. At 6:00 we visited the Valdez family. They just got back from being in Candon for the New Year Celebration. They actually went to church in Candon too which is great! We took the time to answer the questions they had and then we taught about the Book of Mormon to a girl named Pia, who is staying there till tomorrow and leaving back to Manila. Brother Valdez gave her a Book of Mormon and told her about it and asked her if she would read it. She said she would. Way to go Brother Valdez! :) That was the only lesson we taught tonight. It was a good day.

January 3, 2016: What a happy and laughter filled day! :) For my study time I focused specifically on Brother Mario, our investigator. He is having trouble overcoming his alcohol addiction and figuring out the word of wisdom. I searched everything in the scriptures, preach my gospel, and teachings of the presidents of the church, for answers to his problems and I found a lot. It was such an amazing study time! :) Our first stop of the day was in Brother Prado's and Sister Nera's neighborhood. We went there to follow up with everyone that my group gave a Book of Mormon too on the night we went caroling. We found a lot of people and it was an effective finding experience. Later we stopped by the Melo's to teach because we had an appointment set but the dad thought it was yesterday so he wasn't there and the son, Jam, left when we got there so we couldn't teach. We are coming back on Thursday morning to help with service. We stopped by Sister Divines house. She is a friend of Sister Valdez's and she came with us to the Stake Christmas Party, along with her daughter named Fresh. She also has a son named Charles. It was Sister Divines birthday today! She invited us in and we had fun! We told a couple jokes, had some fun with magic, ate together, and got to know each other. It was really good for us to build a relationship of trust with them. After we crossed the field between the road we were on and the highway. The Maaghop's live on the highway. At the Maaghop's we had a good lesson and the a lot of laughter haha! The lesson was an object lesson. I brought some pepper with my and got a bowl from water with them and some dish soap. When you put pepper in the bowl of water the pepper floats at the top. When you put dish soap on your finger tip and touch the water in the middle of the bowl, all of the pepper moves to the edges of the bowl. Representing sin(Pepper) in our lives(Bowl of Water) and how Jesus Christ and the Atonement of Jesus Christ(Finger Tip of Dish Soap) impacts our lives and how our sins are removed from our lives when we repent and follow Jesus Christ. I really liked the object lesson. After the lesson we had some fun! :) We did a lot of Magic! I keep teaching Elder Pitt simple magic that I learned in the MTC(Missionary Training Center) so that we can use it with families and kids. I have this trick that made Brother Robert loose it! HAHA! HE was laughing so hard! Elder Pitt also did some tricks that nearly killed Brother Robert and Arman haha! They ha to leave the room because they were coughing from laughing so hard. The funniest thing was when Elder Pitt sat on the ground and pretended to row a boat and rowed across the floor haha. Everyone lost it! It was such a fun time with the Maaghop's! I was happy to see everyone smiling! :)

January 4th-6th I was on exchanges with other missionaries and wasn't able to type up what happened in these days.

January 7, 2016: Today was a good day. We had studies and for working time all of us missionaries and a member, Brother Ram, went out to a place called 'Santa'. This are will be open soon so we have to prepare it for missionaries to move into this area. Elder Pitt and I went apartment searching while the others wen finding for people to teach. It was fun. After the other Elders had an appointment so Brother Ram joined Elder Pitt and I with 2 lessons. The first was at the Cabe's house. They are members. We let Brother Ram lead the lesson. He did an awesome job! It as about serving others and how it helps us grow closer to out Savior, King, Friend, Brother, and Only Begotten Son. Brother Ram is a great teacher. We finished the night at the Maaghops. We sang Joseph Smith's First Pray (Hymn 26) because we were teaching about James 1:5. We did an object lesson/game. We has someone close their eyes and we'd ask them what colors certain things were. Most of the time they's be wrong but sometimes very good at getting them right. Elder Pitt would also try to whisper the wrong colors too them. The reason for this game is that we need to ask God when we want answers. If they would've asked what colors the items were we would have told them. Also Elder Pitt's whispering for incorrect answers was symbolizing Satan and how he tries to get us to do wrong. It was a good lesson! I give all credit for the lesson idea to Elder Pitt, my wonderful trainer and an even better missionary. ;) Twas a good day.

January 8, 2016: Fast and Testimony Sunday today! Woohoo! I spoke again today because it is my goal to speak in every fast and testimony meeting throughout my mission. only 20 most left! That is not that many! Church overall was great and the lessons were great. Elder Pitt taught 3rd hour about the book 'Teachings of the Presidents of the Church: Gordon B. Hickley' and I CANNOT wait to read it! He is such an amazing prophet! For study time I read the same book but this one was about Jospeh Fielding Smith. I learned a lot and found a lot of teachings for our investigators. Our first stop of the day was at our fellow American, Charles', house because he invited us to celebrate his son, Alex's, 9th birthday. It was a lot of fun! He has the most well behaved kids which is great. He is so good to us and loves having us over. It's a lot of fun talking with him. Especially since it's in English haha. Then we met up with our Ward Mission Leader because he had given out a Book of Mormon to someone and he wanted us to visit them with him. They ended up not being home but the recent converts, Lardizabal Family, lived close by so we visited them. It love visiting and teaching the Lardizabal family! They have such a strong spirit. We taught from 1 Nephi 17: 8-10, 15-19 but when it says "Construct a ship" we replaced that phrase with "Share the gospel". it went very well. If you use that scripture you can replace it with anything you want to improve on. It is a great scripture! That was my Sunday. I hope you all had a great Sunday! :)
